RACE 1 @ 1.20pm O’BRIEN ELECTRICAL & PLUMBING COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN HCP (1310m) – Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:
TOP SELECTION: 3. HARMONIOUS STRIDE (Ethan Ensby/Ben Looker; 58.5kg & barrier 4) -we kick things off with a competitive maiden sprint; and in a real battle of map and tactics; like this emerging 4YO by Ole Kirk who can break through at only his 2nd start pushing up significantly in distance. Settled well back from the inside gate on debut at Grafton before making up steady and late ground. Was $3.90 into $3.40 that day; and the run was better than it looked coming through inferior ground. Slightly firmer surface here over a longer trip; and drawn to find a trail before working to the outside; are all big factors in his favour

RACE 2 @ 1.55pm: NORTHERN RIVERS CONCRETING FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN PLATE (1100m) – Set Weights; Apprentices Can Claim:
TOP SELECTION: 10. BELLE OLE (Adam Campton/Karl Zechner; 55.5kg & barrier 10) -the maiden sprinters again; coming back in distance at set weights; and it shapes nicely for this Gold Coast-based 3YO filly again by Ole Kirk who can pounce on debut. Opens with important gear additions; and behind 2 progressive trials over the border; asked to do very little in the 1st before strong through the line in claiming the 2nd a fortnight back. Looks to have versatility; bred to get further; and stable has found an ideal starting point

RACE 3 @ 2.35pm LISMORE FLOOR COVERINGS COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE (1110m) – Set Weights; Apprentices Can Claim:
TOP SELECTION: 3. NO IDEA (Billy Healy/Andrew Mallyon; 59kg & barrier 3) –staying at the trip for the maiden boys edition at set weights; and in a very testing affair; rating clear on top is this emerging Headwater 4YO from the Sunshine Coast who crosses the border for just his 2nd start. Proved he had a real future missing by a neck on debut at home back in February after being backed from $4.20 into $3.50. Given plenty of spelling time before two solid trials a month apart; the latest cruising home in front with something in hand. Destined to come back a stronger galloper; and he’s drawn to get an economical run on speed

RACE 4 @ 3.10pm OATEN’S UNTAMED SPRINT PRELUDE – BENCHMARK 82 HCP (1110m) – Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:
TOP SELECTION: 2. POSEIDON’S SON (Matthew Dunn/Grady Spokes a1.5kg; 60.5kg & barrier 5) -right up in grade now for a good quality Prelude sprint; and very keen to ride home aboard this smart and sparingly raced 6YO by Merchant Navy resuming from a break. Charged through his grades earlier this year winning 4 straight from on-speed around this region up to BM 74 level. Then was run down late on the synthetic at the Gold Coast before spelling. Fitted with 2 even trials; and naturally has a sharp fresh record. In very good training hands; and can take his winning strike rate to nearly 40 percent with victory here at only his 20th start.

RACE 5 @ 3.45pm M & T TYRES COUNTRY BOOSTED CLASS 3 HCP (1210m) – Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:
TOP SELECTION: 6. CONSTELLATION (Stephen & Jordan Lee/Jai Williams a0kg; 57.5kg & barrier 4) -another even & very competitive sprint; but nothing shapes better than this tough & consistent 4YO by Justify who is well placed to make it 2 wins from his last 3 well into the campaign. Went home best to win a weaker class race at Grafton 2 starts back before missing by a long neck in a BM 66 at that same course on a Soft 6. Hard fit now; drawn to roll forward and park right on the speed; and back on slightly drier ground is a significant plus

RACE 6 @ 4.20pm LISMORE WORKERS CLUB ROUSILLON BENCHMARK 66 HCP (1526m) – Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:
TOP SELECTION: 2. VIXENETTE (Matthew Dunn/Ms Jett Newman a0kg; 60kg & barrier 4) -the middle distance gallopers lock horns here in a strong & open grade; and keen to back this tough 5YO mare by Trapeze Artist who drops in class deep into the prep. Went down narrowly in a deep CL2 at Grafton 3 starts back before being ridden quieter & sweeping home to win a feature CL2 at Coffs. Then crossed the border to tackle tougher opposition at Doomben & struggled late after settling well back in traffic. Much better placed in this company coming back a shade in distance; and she can take her winning strike rate to around 23 percent from 18 starts

I’M NOT HERE (Chris & Corey Munce/Ms Tahlia fenlon; 56kg & barrier 10) -we cap the big day with the restricted sprinters in another very testing market tussle; and confident this emerging 3YO Qld filly by Cool Aza Beel can go back-to-back at only her 2nd start crossing the border. Came off 2 winning trials at Doomben to finish best from just off the speed and claim a debut 1200m win at Beaudesert; running a very handy time. Naturally far more depth in this; but she’s showing real promise; and the stable has pin-pointed this as the next step
